Is it possible to lead a double life? After reading Ann Roth's debut into women's fiction, I actually think so......one reads about it all of the time, a man who travels, has wealth, prestige, and comes with a "Knob Hill pedigree"? It makes a believer out of me!
Picture this, a hospital waiting room......you live in San Francisco and think your international lawyer husband is in China on business and you get a call he's suffered a heart attack. How would you react? So you make arrangements for your teenage daughter and fly to his bedside in Seattle. While in the waiting room this lovely woman enters.....you feel frumpy as she's dressed in evening wear, is younger and seems to have it "together" but she's distressed as well. You both talk about your husbands, your family and feel a bond due to the fact that the "men" you both love are in critical care. Then the doctor comes and says "Mrs. Mason and both of you answer "yes"? "I'm sorry but your husband has passed"......and the nightmare begins.
Another Life, what an appropriate title, is a wonderful book and I honestly could not put it down once I began reading the story of Beth and Caroline. Even though in the beginning they bonded at the hospital, they both have a lot to loose......not just the man they both loved, but two girls from each marriage could be badly hurt, their finances in serious trouble, reputations marred and gossip a plenty!
Were they both angry? Of course, did they resent each other? Yes! But who would think that months later they would turn to each other because they were both going through the same thing and could relate to their horrible loss and financial situation! What a message this book gives the reader. I suggest you read the book and learn from the experience and you might ask what that would be? If you're married, in a relationship, take the time to get involved, ask questions of your partner, plan ahead and protect your family. Being a partner is just that, an equal in all aspects of your relationship.
I'm very passionate about this as I was blessed with a wonderful marriage and it ended suddenly with my husband's unexpected passing. Thank God we had incredible years together, shared everything in our marriage and planned ahead. If you haven't or even if you single, take a look at Ann's website. She has a guide for women that is so worth taking a look at, I promise.
And if you want an entertaining read, one that delves into who you are, what you can be, how to make lemonade out of lemons and most importantly friendship and understanding, then Another Life is for you! Ann Roth, bravo......an excellent and entertaining book!
Sometimes Losing Everything…
Learning of her husband Stephen’s fatal heart attack is the worst thing Mary Beth Mason can imagine--until she learns about the other family he left behind. Another wife, another daughter, another home hundreds of miles away in Seattle. For twenty years, Mary Beth’s life centered around pleasing and loving Stephen, socializing with his lawyer friends, taking part in the exclusive San Francisco clubs and guilds he prized, and raising their daughter Aurora while he was away on “business.” Having promised to take care of her forever, he left her instead with mountains of debt and a house mortgaged to the hilt.
Is The Only Way To Find Yourself…
But amidst the piles of unpaid bills, Mary Beth discovers some unexpected gifts—a fierce determination to begin again, a strength she never knew she possessed, and a most unlikely ally. Out of the ashes of a lie, she starts to create the life—and the family—she’s always wanted. A life built on trust, honesty, and perhaps even love…

Seduced for revenge, bedded for pleasure
Six months ago Brazilian tycoon Caleb Cameron thought he’d uncovered Maggie Holland’s plot to ruin him – by seducing him to take his mind off business deals worth millions!
In actual fact Maggie was being manipulated by her cruel stepfather. What was more, she fell in love with Caleb – but he said he never wanted to see her again.
However, now her stepfather has died, leaving Maggie and her mother with nothing – Caleb Cameron is the new owner of all their assets! And, as the final piece of his revenge, he’s got an offer Maggie cannot refuse: to keep their precious family home, she must become his mistress for two months!
From the very beginning, I was captivated, intrigued and on edge as this story begins with a kidnapping, a ferocious storm and two very captivating characters Rafig (ruler and monarch) and Belle, a marine archaeologist who along with her co-worker was kidnapped and held for ransom. Immediately the stage is set as Belle and Rafig are thrown together, he her protector and Belle with everything she’s been through, her strength and courage shows throughout in this desert tale.
Belle’s homeland was Australia; she and her sister were for the most part, raised by her mother. Belle is strong, beautiful, hard working and proud. She has come to Q’aroum to explore and excavate a sunken first century trading ship. She and her co-worker are kidnapped by Rafiq’s cousin and the ransom demanded is the “Peacock’s Eye” not only very valuable but of importance to the people of Q’aroim. For generations it has been the gift of the Sheikh to his bride and Rafiq has given it up in order to save Belle and her co-worker!
Rafiq, is lilke no other sheikh or monarch…….his character ireminds me of something out of “The Arabian Nights”. He’s handsome, intelligent, fearsome and very proud and he wants Belle……he wants her for his bride! Sparks fly off of these two characters as they both fight their attraction to each other and along the way find their way into a romance you won’t forget. A tale of East and West, two such different cultures and people who find a bond, mutual respect and love!
This is Annie West’s first "sheikh" book and I personally feel was exceptional, full of intrigue, chemistry and a wonderful love story set on a dessert isle.
He saved her life. Now it’s her turn - to help him save his country. By marrying him.
Rafiq paid a sheikh’s ransom to rescue Belle Winters. The ransom is a national treasure but also a traditional bridal gift to the sheikh’s betrothed. Now his people expect a royal wedding.
Belle owes Rafiq so much. How can she deny him this sham marriage that will keep the peace in his fledgling island democracy?
They’re from different worlds. She’s a dedicated archaeologist from an ordinary family. He’s descended from a line of autocratic adventurers and buccaneers. Is their marriage simply a political necessity or a passionate destiny?

WHAT ANNIE SAYS:
"This book had such a long gestation period. It emerged from discussions with friend and fellow author, Anna Campbell, over months – no, years, about heroic archetypes and female fantasies of falling in love. Anna and I don’t see each other as often as we’d like so when we do get together it’s a talkfest. And one of the late night themes was why the sheikh? What is it about this sort of hero that appeals to so many women worldwide? Why do we look twice at books about Arabian princes emerging from a fantasy world to sweep some (lucky) woman off her feet?Annie West
I know sheikh heroes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and I admit that years ago I might have said the same. But their appeal has grown on me. Maybe it’s their larger than life aura. Maybe it’s the echo of some exotic Arabian Nights fantasy. Or perhaps the fact that they wield such power in their own domain but are conquered by love.
The Sheikh’s Ransomed Bride explores what happens when duty and passion collide. When two people from completely different worlds find themselves flung together in a situation that tests them to the limit. Belle and Rafiq rise to the challenge, and in the process discover just how far they’ll go for the one they love.
The idea for this specific story came to me while I was at a Romance Writers’ of Australia conference in Coogee, Sydney. I’m sure the excitement of being with so many other wonderful writers inspired me. I was getting ready for the official dinner when inspiration struck and I had to jot down a couple of ideas.
It was quite a while before I got a chance to start the book as I was writing something else at the time. Maybe that was a good thing. By the time I sat down to write The Sheikh’s Ransomed Bride so much of the story was vivid in my mind – particularly Rafiq, one of my favourite heroes. The setting too was marvellous – a place I looked forward to visiting each time I sat at the computer. In fact I became so fond of Q’aroum that it was hard to leave and I set my next book there too!
I hope you enjoy Belle and Rafiq’s story as much as I do."

Ann Roth has penned a warm and charming read in It Happened One Wedding. It made this reader believe again, in happy endings and promise to come.
For some reason when a bride and groom and their families become involved in the planning process of an event that should bring joy and happiness, the wedding plans can sometimes turn into a not so pleasant process. Kelly is planning her wedding with the help of her friend and wedding planner Cammie. Will she be able to keep peace between Cammie and her overbearing father who has ideas of his own? Throw into the mix, Curt, the wedding photographer who is at odds with his former friend the wedding planner! Will this wedding take place “peacefully” in six weeks time?
Cammie Yarnell came from a family who loved and supported her. The previous year she had been engaged to Todd who betrayed her at his bachelor party. She was hurt and never forgave her friend Curt who had introduced them. She blamed Curt for not telling her the sort of man she was marrying.
Curt Blanco at one time, considered Cammie his friend. In fact, she was his first kiss. He was responsible for introducing Cammie to Todd but did not realize what a “player” Todd was or that he would hurt Cammie. He did not believe in love or happy ever after. Why? Because all of his life he had watched his father move from woman to woman and never respecting his mother. His brother’s is also suffered from “failed” relationships so for Curt, he believed he would never travel down the path to matrimony.
I so enjoyed reading this story and watching the interaction between these two very special people Curt and Cammie. It was heart-warming to see them “mend fences”, fighting their attraction for each other and finding love. This was such a romantic story and one I will long remember thanks to this author. It was a book I read from cover to cover and could not put it down once I began Cammie and Curt’s journey in a renewed friendship and finding love.
When Cammie Yarnell agrees to do a wedding at the Oceanside Bed and Breakfast, she knows the tough part will be keeping a smile on her face. Not too long ago she'd planned a walk down the aisle at the sumptuous B and B herself—and called it off. Worse, she's working this event with Curt Blanco, the photographer who knew all about her fiancé's cheating and kept it secret, betraying her trust as a friend.
Yet her anger starts to fade once the showers and dinner parties bring her closer to the man. Now Curt's misguided belief that he's bad for her is standing in the way of Cammie's trip to the altar—with him.

Again, Kate Walker has written a spellbinding story, one that took this reader on such an emotional journey.
Like so many of us who have attended formal wedding's and heard the clergy say "if anyone knows just cause why these two should not be joined.......", this is exactly how this story begins and I believe where Ms. Walker got her particular idea for this story. Just think about it for a minute, how would you react if someone spoke out? Well, our handsome, sexy alpha Guido does just that and then some, taking everyone present at the wedding by surprise.
When Amber met Guido in Las Vegas, there was an immediate attraction, strong emotions, and longing. So when Guido realized he had to have her, there was only one choice and that was to ask her to marry him. Amber's feelings for him were so strong that she immediately said yes and wanted to marry immediately; they did! However, their relationship was based on one of misunderstanding, lack of communication and secrets. When Amber realized she married him and did not know him she ran and with a man she later promised to marry. At this wedding, the story begins.
Guido arrives at the wedding just in time and forces Amber to leave her wedding, confront the groom, admit she is married to Guido and leaves for Sicily and his home. It is there, she finds out his secret.......he's wealthy, they are married and will remain so and he has not been honest with her. It is here, they both examine themselves, their past, and present and where Amber realizes that she has loved him always, is vulnerable to him and loves him with desperation. And Guido? He believes Amber had never been strong enough to believe in him. He also realizes that he is the only person that has ever stood by her.
I actually felt like I was caught in the eye of a storm. While reading Guido and Amber's story I was on edge, anticipating at every turn, the outcome, wishing and wanting them to resolve their differences and find love again.
The Sicilian Husband, Blackmailed Bride is the first book in the duo Corsentino's brother's series, with Vito's story being next (The Sicilian's Red-Hot Revenge) . These Sicilian men are strong, hard working and love intensely. I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this first book and I am looking forward to next
Dark, proud and sinfully gorgeous, Guido Corsentino is determined to reclaim his wife! Outwardly, Amber is perfect and untouchable, but Guido knows the passionate woman inside. One kiss and he's certain she'll give him whatever he demands.
But Guido is also certain of something else: Amber ran away from him once—so she won't be given the opportunity to run again. He'll protect her from the consequences of her actions…in his bed!

To describe this book I would use the adjectives passion, pain, loneliness, despair, wealth, determination and pride. This was truly a story which goes to show one that money can’t buy everything…….it can’t buy love and it certainly can’t buy happiness.
Both of these characters came from extreme wealth and position. Kristian Koumantaros was in a horrible accident and not only in pain due to physical injuries but he had lost use of his legs and eye sight. His disposition was so miserable he went through several nurses and sent them all running. Now the owner of an English nursing firm has come to an isolated location in Greece make sure she gets the job done and helps this angry and desolate man heal.
Elizabeth Hatchet suffered her own pain from a failed marriage, and hiding secrets about her past. She has been hired by a woman she believes to be Kristian’s fiancé and if she does not help him to get on his feet, Elizabeth fears she will loose her nursing business. She also becomes aware of just how handsome, rugged and sexy this Greek billionaire is and vows not to succumb to his charm.
However, the tables are turned on both Kristian and Elizabeth as the attraction between them sizzles, a friendship develops and they share an evening of passion. But it doesn’t just stop there……they run into Elizabeth’s ex-husband and her true identity is exposed!
This is a wonderful story about finding peace, respect, joy and love during an incredible healing process. Bravo Jane Porter for again, entertaining your readers with a strong and powerful love story set in beautiful Greece.
In his power – and out of control!
Impossible, infuriating – and irresistible! Kristian Koumantaros is the most difficult patient Elizabeth’s ever had to care for. The arrogant Greek billionaire is used to always being in control, and isn’t taking kindly to being temporarily blinded after a helicopter crash. He refuses to be at the mercy of any employee…especially a female!
Alone with Kristian at his luxurious retreat, Elizabeth is feeling the full force of his sexual charisma. It’s out of control, and she knows she’ll have to leave – like the seven nurses who tended to Kristian before her! But Kristian won’t let her go, and he’ll use every weapon he still has…including that potent masculinity if he has to!
The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is to love and be loved in return.
~ From "Unforgettable with Love"Natalie Cole
A strong alpha, a young girl who for years loved this sexy Italian! Blackmailed into marriage! Secrets! Passion! How much better can it get? Again, another Lucy Monroe book I couldn't put down once I began. This is such a powerful and intense love story.
Hope Bishop had been raised without parents and by her wealthy grandfather who only had time for his business and business associates. For Hope, life was very lonely and as she matured and first set eyes on the sexy millionaire Luciano de Valerio she was smitten. For years she had loved this man from afar and when he turns up at a New Years Eve party and kisses her at midnight, she’s sure of her love for this man.
Luciano iis not only handsome and wealthy, he’s a successful businessman. He is very loyal to his family and family business so when Hope’s grandfather approaches him with a deal, a deal to get his families business back by marrying his granddaughter, what choice does he have? Luciano thinks Hope is sweet, loving and tender and that she will make him a wonderful Sicilian wife but he doesn’t count on the attraction between them. Lucy takes this attraction and makes it a dance, a dance and journey you won’t want to miss.
I wonder how many women have had crushes or loved for years without that person realizing it?.. If you had the chance and someone could make it possible, what would be your choice?
Hope Bishop is stunned when darkly sexy Sicilian tycoon Luciano di Valerio proposes marriage. Brought up by her wealthy but distant grandfather, she is used to fading into the background and being ignored.
But Luciano's sensual lovemaking makes her feel vibrantly alive. Hope falls in love with her husband and is blissfully happy—until she discovers that Luciano ruthlessly married her…for convenience!
HERE'S WHAT THE AUTHOR, LUCY MONROE SAYS ABOUT THIS BOOK:
THE CHARACTERS: When I was invited to write a book for the 2004 M& B Mother's Day Anthology, I was thrilled when my editor told me, "We want classic Presents, maybe an international hero, but you can write what you want." I knew just who I was going to write about. Luciano and Hope had been filling my thoughts for months, but I didn't know when I was going to get to write their story. Luciano is a Sicilian tycoon with more than his share of pride and family commitment. Hope has been raised in Boston by her workaholic grandfather. While Luciano is more than happy to remain focused on their sizzling physical attraction, Hope's emotions become involved very quickly.
Roxanne is very modest but I'll be Home for Christmas earned all authors NYT status so I don't feel guilty mentioning the fact!
Whatever this New York Times Bestseller author writes is guaranteed to "thrill" her readers. This book is no exception and a tribuite to the author and NASCAR.
I realize there have been articles written about Harlequin and this NASCAR series. Would the series be a success? If this is any indication, then yes but I sincerely believe her contribution to the series and her other book Tis the Silly Season from NASCAR HOLIDAY, are a wonderful addition.
If Mick Churchill thinks he can buy out half of Shelby Jackson's family-owned race team, she's got news for him. So what if Mick's the most famous soccer star on the globe--with cash, connections and charisma? Fuel line? Finish line? Shelby doubts the Brit knows the difference.
Superstar Mick knew buying a NASCAR team was going to be tricky. The truth is the struggling team needs Mick's media savvy and team-building skills--even if Shelby can't admit it. Now, with Daytona just days away, Mick won't quit until he changes Shelby's mind. Any way he can.
